E.M.BOND

ACRYLIC EMULSION CEMENT MODIFIER AND WATER BASED CONCRETE BONDING AGENT
DESCRIPTION
E.M.BOND is a one-component water based general purpose modified acrylic emulsion.
When diluted with water it produces a gauging solution for improving cementitious mixes. 
It is resistant to hydrolysis and can therefore be used for external applications. E.M.BOND is added to
concrete and cementitious mortar to improve new concrete and cementitious mortar adhesion to old aged substrates.

E.M.BOND is the recommended primer for the cementitious repair system.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Concrete substrates must be suitably prepared using mechanical or abrasive blast cleaning
techniques such as scabbling, needle gunning, grit blasting and to provide a clean, sound
surface free of laitance, surface contaminants such as oil and grease and loosely adhering particles.

MIXING
E.M.BOND should be mechanically mixed using a forced action mixer or in a clean drum using a drill and paddle.
A normal concrete mixer is NOT suitable.Mix E.M.BOND with water to produce a gauging solution in the correct ratio for 90 seconds. 
Add gauging solution to cement/aggregate mix until desired consistency is achieved.


APPLICATION
The prepared substrate should be thoroughly soaked with clean water until uniformly saturated leaving no standing water.
Always apply mix “wet on wet” onto bonding bridge/coat. Re-apply if surface dries.
Typically in order to modify mortars the recommended consumption level of E.M.BOND is 15-20% of cement weight

FIELD OF APPLICATION
E.M.BOND is added to water then mixed with cement and sand/aggregate to produce:

  • Bond coat/slurry.
  • Renders.
  • Screeds with enhanced mechanical properties.
  • Repair of damaged or spalled concrete.

STORAGE & SHELFLIFE
The shelf life is 12 months if unopened, stored free from frost, moisture and direct sunlight.

HEALTH & SAFETY
E.M.BOND is non-toxic but is alkaline in its nature. When applying gloves & goggles should be worn.
Wash off splashes to skin with water. If in eyes wash out with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention.
E.M.BOND is non-flammable. MSDS is available at ABADGARAN website.
